How did you configure USB3 type-C for DS 2 port? did you have USB3 mux for that port?

I didn’t use any mux on either the upstream or downstream port. I followed the Texas Instruments reference design that originally had Type-A connectors and just replaced them with Type-C. On the upstream port I connected CC1 and CC2 to GND through 5.1 kΩ pull-down resistors (Rd) so it works as a device. On one downstream port, where I added a Type-C connector for 3.0 , I used a 10 kΩ pull-up to 5 V (Rp) on CC1 and CC2 but this one is working at 2.0.

If we do this we do not have a way to detect which orientation (normal or flip) the connector is in. In the future its best to use a cc controller for an application like this.  

I tried both orientations, and it only works USB 2.0.

HI SUshan:

    For USB3 signal, you can not connect TX1/TX2 together which could cause signal integrity issue. an USB3 mux HD3SS3212 is needed for tyep-C USB3 application. Or you just connect it to only TX1/RX1 or TX2/RX2 for one direction.
