Th depends on the loss profile of the cable itself. Do we know the loss of the cable in dB?

Is this a USB Type-C cable or USB A-B cable?

If this cable is USB Type-C, using a 3m-4m cable is already out of spec for 5Gbps.

The loss of the cable is about 10 dB, and it is Type-C Cable used in vehicle.

What would be the total loss of the system, including PCB trace and cabling? Like Vishesh mentioned, a 3-4m type-C cable is outside of spec for USB3.2, so we do not have any test data available for eye diagrams with those cable lengths.

This would be the closest we have to a test report for this, yes. However, this was a test also done with known lengths. Does the customer know whether it is going to only be a flash-drive at the type-C port, or could it be another cable?

Additionally, would there be a redriver at the head unit? The TUSB521 is only capable of receiver equalization, meaning it can equalize the signal to improve the signal as it enters the device, but will not further drive the signal as it exits.

It is going to only be a flash-drive at the type-C port, this type-c port is for DVR.

There is no redriver at the head unit.

Then the signal entering the head unit would have the loss of the type-C cable plus whatever loss the connector and trace of the head unit adds. I would still advise a shorter cable if possible, as a system like this would require a very low-loss PCB design with very little leeway for poor design. Additionally, it's important to ensure the overall loss can be compensated by the SOC and not exceed the loss budget set by the USB3 spec.
