Tool/software:
Hi team,
My customer would like to know is that ok to draw EN pin low during the I2C tansaction ongoing? Is there possibility to cause any damage with application?
HI Oliver,
When VIL is met on EN pin by driving the pin LOW during an I2C transaction, the output drivers will disable. I don't think there is any possibility of damage since the buffers will simply stop driving LOW and will release the I2C bus.
I do suspect that maybe there can be some type of lock up event where the input side and output side of the buffer become out of sync. You might need to reset all I2C target devices on each side of the buffer.
