In master mode, pin 2 is used for CLKOUT, so can not LED2 be used?

Also, for the master mode connection, should I just connect the CLKOUT (50MHz out) pin to the MAC's refclk pin?

Hi,

Your understanding is correct. In RMII master mode, pin 2 is 50MHzOut to keep the PHY and the MAC synchronized, and 50MHzOut has to be connected to the MAC Ref Clk input.

Thank you for your reply. Am I correct in understanding that LED2 cannot be used in master mode? LED2 is connected on the evaluation board, but is it intended to be used in slave mode?
