DS90UB954-Q1EVM: I need a connector from MIPI CSI-2 to 15-pin FFC (Flat Flexible Cable) connector with a 1mm pitch

Tool/software:

I need to connect the MIPI CSI-2 output from the DS90UB954-Q1 (on DS90UB954EVM, processing automotive camera via FAKRA) to a Raspberry Pi 4’s 15-pin, 1mm-pitch FFC camera connector (J3) to view the feed on my laptop via HDMI and Epiphan AV.io 4K. Please recommend:

  1. The DS90UB954EVM’s CSI-2 output connector and pinout (I assume Samtec QSH-020-01-L-D-DP-A).
  2. Specific cables or adapter boards to connect this to the Pi’s 15-pin FFC port.
  3. Any TI partner solutions for this interface.

    Hello Ahmed,

    1. Yes, the Samtec connector on the EVM is QSH-020-01-H-D-DP-A. You need to use the mating QTH connector in your adapter board.

    2. There is no commercial adapter that I am aware of that can connect the MIPI output of the 954 EVM to the Raspberry Pi's MIPI RX Port. You might need to create a custom connector that can bridge this gap if you need to use a Raspberry Pi.

    3. The 954 was designed to plug into the TI TDAx evaluation kit, if that is an option that you want to explore.
