For LVDS AC coupled, does SN65LVDS104 input require external bias? if it does, what is the recommended external bias circuit?

Outputs can be left open and do not require a DC Path.

Hi Dung,

Clemens is correct. The driver (SN65LVDS104) does not require a DC path. Only the receiver will need a DC path. An external bias is needed on the receiver if the receiver does not have a wide common mode range. Please refer to the app note Clemens linked in his response for more details/examples.

Hi Dung,

If you are receiving an AC-coupled signal as an input, I recommend using the termination/bias scheme shown in figure 4 of the app note Clemens linked (see below)
