TCAN1044A-Q1: BUSOFF detection

Part Number: TCAN1044A-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi,

TCAN1044AVDRBRQ1 is being used in our ECU applications. We found some peculiar issue that When VCC voltage is varying from 5V to 4.6V, IC communicates with uC, but when when Vcc voltage varies from 4.6V to 5V, IC is not communicating with uC. SW team is mentioning busoff condition.

Is there any state pulling in busoff condition?

  • Hi Chaitanya,

Yes, a transient during VCC rise can push the controller into bus-off.

However, note that this is a controller state typically triggered by error counters and not a transceiver state and would recommend verifying with the controller's team checking for the bus-off handling in the firmware, thanks.

    Best Regards,

    Michael.
