DS90UB971-Q1: Rlow value on IDX pin for configuring 0x18 I²C address

Part Number: DS90UB971-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello,

I see configuring 0x18 as an I²C address using IDX pin needs voltage less than 0.135xVDD18. The Rlow value given in datasheet (Table 6-12) is very specific of 42.2k. I believe, we can also use the closest value (30k < Rlow < 50k) already available in our design. Please confirm.

  • Hi,

Thanks for this question. It's okay to use a value close the 42kohm in the design here. The concern here is that the IDX shares a pin with the clk_out pin. If clk_out is used for supplying reference clock to the sensor, it's important to keep this value relatively high (around the 30-50kohm range mentioned) to not interfere with the clk_out driver.

    Best,

    Thomas
