TUSB320: Looking for CC controller to switch between source and sink dinam dynamically

Hello,

My customer would like to develop a product being connected to a Host PC or a Tablet via USB-TypeC.
For USB data, PC or Tablet is DFP and their product is UFP.
But after their connecting their product to a Host PC or a Tablet via USB-TypeC, they would like to switch power source and power sink, like a Host PC or a Tablet is power sink and their product is power source. On their product has 5V/3A power source device already. Here, they have a question. Using what TI CC controller device can they achieve their requirements? They considered to use TUSB320 first, but looking at the following E2E, it says “a CC controller like the TUSB320 cannot dynamically switch between source and sink”. So, please let me know the best CC controller to meet their requirements.

Hi Kazuhiko,

I have a few questions for you about your customers design:

Is the end equipment here a hub?
I see the requirement is a DRP, is the max power requirement 15W?
Is any other alternate modes such as DP required or just data?
Is USBIF compliance required at all here?

Please let me know the answer to these questions, and I can work to find you the best recommendation for this application.

What does DP stand for? What is DP?

The tablet shown in the figure is placed in the device and remains connected.
