Hi Team,

I’m evaluating a BLVDS-to-fiber solution and considering the DS92LV16.

Can the DS92LV16’s serial LVDS output drive a fiber transceiver directly?
If a direct connection is not supported, please recommend a preferred architecture and optical interface (SFP or FX/BASE-X ).
Please provide reference designs/app notes covering signal levels, AC-coupling, clock/data recovery, and link supervision.

Hi,

I have a few comments:

1) Which fiber optic transceiver are you planning to use?

2) As this is more of a niche and legacy device, It will be difficult to find reference designs or app notes for this kind of application

3) We do not have a preferred architecture as this is not a standard application for this part. The terminations expected to be seen at the output are the same as standard LVDS terminations.

Please refer to the following app note if AC coupling on the bus may be required.
