Are there any other 24-channel I2C to GPIO products recommended besides the TCA6418E? Do not use blind or buried vias.

Hi Gareth,

TCA6424A is the next best option in QFN.

If you want a leaded 24-bit IO expander, consider using SPI to GPIO with TXE8124-Q1, there is leaded VSSOP options for this device.
