this circuit on other side of main device, input 24V of this circuit will be exposed to customer to use as pluggable connection when they want.

Main device will be on side 3V ISO and that has input of 24V and provision for earth.

Can I implement ESD2CAN36-Q1, with respect to ground(Not ISO_GND from application note) to both input terminal? How ESD current will flow? For contact discharge.

Hi Anurag,

Just for clarification, are you trying to recreate the circuit below?

Are there any additional parameters you are looking for? Typically with 4-20mA loops a beefier diode is needed for surge protection. If so, then I think TVS3300 would be good options for this. You can check section 3.18 of this document: link.

Hi Anurag,

ESD2CAN36 is an option but I would recommend the TVS3301 or TSM36CA if bidirectional protection is needed.
