Hi E2E support Team,

  • we use in our ECU , DS90UB933 for transferring image to IVI/display unit having Deserializer DS90UB934.Imager output format YUV422 8bit  DVP8 16bpp 30fps .Note currently we use Serializer in 10bit mode.

1)What is maximum resolution that can be achieved with DS90UB933 for imager output format YUV422 8bit  DVP8 16bpp 30fps.2) To achieve transfer of imager resolution >2MP(1080p) -3MP with DS90UB933 how the Blanking period and frame rates can be compromised?With this what could be the maximum resolution be achieved ?

3) To achieve transfer of imager resolution >2MP(1080p) -3MP with DS90UB933 how much the  frame rates can be compromised? With this what could be the maximum resolution be achieved ?

    Hi Prabha,

    933 supports a max PCLK rate of 100MHz. For YUV422 8-bit format, 8 data inputs are used. Since this video format is 16bpp, 2 PCLK cycles are necessary for each pixel.

    1. The max pixel rate is 50Mpixels/sec, divided by 30fps = ~1.66Mpixels/frame including blanking. Assuming 15% blanking, the max resolution supported is 1.45MP or 1392x1040 pixels.

    2. Assuming 2MP resolution is 1920x1080 pixels + 15% blanking, the max framerate supported is 20fps. Assuming 3MP resolution is 2048x1536 pixels + 15% blanking, the max framerate supported is 13fps. Please let me know if your resolution or blanking requirements differ from my assumptions.
