TCAN1043A-Q1: How to count SWE timer

Part Number: TCAN1043A-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi team,

Can you support my customer questions?

1. If status changes rapidly standby->sleep->standby, can you teach me minimum INH=Low time period?

2. When status changes to standby mode from sleep mode, how long does it takes INH=High from once WUP or LWU occurs?

3. How to count 4min? Seeing from block diagram, I cannot find OSC in TCAN1043A.

Regards,

Youhei MIYAOKA

  • Hi Youhei,

I hope you are doing well!

    1. What is the customer's goal here? Can you specify more on how your customer is changing from Standby to Sleep mode? Are they turning off one of the VCC or VIO supplies to enter Sleep mode from Standby mode? The answer to your question varies depending on the customer's specific use case and setup, so any other information about why and how they are doing this would be helpful.

    2. It takes time tINH_SLP_STB (100us maximum) for INH to go from high impedance to high.

    3. This ~4 minute timer is called the Sleep Wake Error (SWE) timer which is highlighted below. If TCAN1043A is in Standby mode for more than 5 minutes, it will switch to Sleep mode. This time is defined by tINACTIVE in the datasheet as well.

    Best,

    Ethan
