TS3USB221: Ron for Vcc=3.3V

Part Number: TS3USB221

Tool/software:

Hello experts,

I had a quick question about Ron of TS3USB221,

On datasheet it mentions Ron (typ, max) when Vcc=3V, 2.3V (Vi=2.4V, Io=-15mA) .

Customer asked, if it would have the same Ron (typ, max) when Vcc is 3.3V? If it is different, what would be the typ & max Ron for Vcc=3.3V?

Thank you in advance for your help and support.

  • Hi Jade,

Yes when VCC is 3.3V then the Ron will be different, the 3.3V Ron value will actually be smaller than the VCC for 3V Ron value.

If you would like to have an estimation of Ron for 3.3V:

    1. Use a test chip or evaluation board

    2. Apply a small voltage and measure current through the ON channel

    3. RON = V/I for the ON state

    Thank you,

    Arya

  • Hi Jade,

The typical Ron for 3.3V is going to be around ~4ohms while the maximum will be close to ~6ohms. Also these are not exact values given but I can only provide a range.

    Thank you,

    Arya
