TPS3711: TPS3711DDCR review schematic

Part Number: TPS3711
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS3701

Tool/software:

Hi AE,

We are using the TPS3711 for 24V OVP protection.
Please help confirm if the circuit is OK.

  • Hi,

It looks like you need an overvoltage monitor with active low output. This circuit will work for this, but we do have supervisor devices made for overvoltage detection which can remove some complexity from your circuit.

TPS3701 is a good option to replace TPS3711 in this application. TPS3701 is very similar to TPS3711, but has an additional overvoltage monitor input and output which can provide the desired functionality.

  • Hi AE,

            Thanks for your recommendation.

However, we are using existing inventory components, which is why we designed it this way.

Do we still need to modify the circuit?

    Besr Regards
  • I don't think any changes are required. The circuit should work to detect overvoltage conditions with an active-low output.
