TCAL9538: Inquiry about TI replacement for NXP PCA9665PW,118

We will not have a direct replacement for this device.

TL16C752B is an old part UART to parallel output transceiver. I know you need I2C to parallel output. 

Would moving towards an MCU like MSPm0 work as a secondary option here? MSPM0C1104? You could program the device to take in I2C and output parallel data on 8 GPIO's?
