SN74AVC4T245: Replace Nexperia and NXP level translator IC

Part Number: SN74AVC4T245
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LSF0108, SN74AVC4T774

Dear TI support team,

May I ask if the SN74AVC4T245 can replace Nexperia’s 74AVC4TD245GU?

In addition, there are two other level shifter ICs that also need your suggestions, as shown below:

  1. NXP, NVT2006BQ"
  2. NXP, NTS0104GU12

Thanks

BR

Jacky

  • Hello Jacky,

The SN74AVC4T245 can be used to replace Nexperia's part but it won't be P2P. The part from Nexperia has a different pinout.

    TI:

    Nexperia:

    For the other references:

    • NXP NVT2006BQ will be similar to LSF0104 or LSF0108 (we don't have a 6-Channel part)
    • NXP NTS0104GU12 has the same functionality and P2P as TXS0104ERUTR

    Regards,

    Josh

  • Hi Josh,

The pin definition of the SN74AVC4T245 you provided is different from the one I found. The image below shows the comparison — the left side is the one you attached, and the right side is based on the definition from the SN74AVC4T245 datasheet. Could you please confirm it again?

In addition, can the TXB0106RGYR replace the NVT2006BQ? (Although they are not pin-to-pin compatible.)

    Thanks

    Jacky

  • Hello Jacky,

I see where the confusion is, my fault.

The Nexperia part you shared (74AVC4TD245) matches closest to SN74AVC4T774 (I should have mentioned AVC4T774 instead of SN74AVC4T245 in my previous response).

The Nexperia part has 4 direction control pins, similar to the AVC4T774. If your customer wants similar functionality then I would recommend SN74AVC4T774 instead.

I would recommend LSF instead of TXB to replace NVT2006BQ if the customer wants similar functionality.

    Regards,

    Josh

  • Hi Josh,

Thanks for your confirmation. Your explanation is very clear.
