Hi,

The TUSB2077A chip is designed to enable peripheral charging only if USB Host is connected (/PWRON signals control the dedicated power switches - TPS2044).

We would like to enable the power switches even if there no Host. Is there a possible workaround to achieve this ?

    Hi,

    I tested this with the EVM and even with the self-power mode, the part requires an upstream connection to deliver Vbus. 

    I dont recommend doing this, but you can use an external MCU to control to the I/O pins to control the switches when no upstream connection is detected. If an upstream connection is detected the MCU can give up control to the switches to absolve any contention issues,
