Hi,
According to the datasheet, the DP83825I is characterized by its compatibility with long LAN cables.
(The PHY supports up to 150 meters over CAT5e cable.)
The customer will be using short LAN cables less than 1 meter long (8cm and 60cm).
Q1. When using it with short LAN cables, are there any considerations or register setting changes that need to be made to the peripheral circuitry?
Q2. Is a different PHY IC more suitable for short LAN cables?
In the E2E forum, a "problem when using short LAN cables" was raised (using a different PHY IC, the DP83867IS).
Does the DP83825I have a similar problem? Please let me know.
