Hi Team,

Can I use the ESD Diode TPD1E10B06DPYR for my analog signals.

I want to use the ESD diode on the output of the DAC IC, which is 134.4Khz analog signal.

Can I use this diode for my requirement, Do we use ESD diodes on analog signals?

If not please suggest an ESD diodes for my analog signals.

Yes, you should be able to use TPD1E10B06DPYR. I could double check the required parameters if you share what DAC IC you are using.

Hi Bryan,

The DAC IC is AD3552R.

ADC IC is AD7768

Hi Bryan,

The Lines are DAC output lines with 134.4Khz frequency.

The ADC input lines are around 130kHz analog signals.

Do you have the voltage absolute maximum ratings? This is what we normally use to decide if the diode clamping voltage will damage the downstream IC. Correct me if I am wrong, the pins being used are RFB, if that is the case then TPD1E10B06DPYR should be fine. What would the pins be in the ADC?

Hi Bryan,

I don't have absolute maximum ratings.

Below is the old schematic we used for input lines

The analog inputs to ADC in coming through an SMA Connector then it passes through a gain amplifier, then again an driver for ADC then only the signals reached to ADC input. The power supply for the input gain amplifier is +12V and -12V. The input range of ADC is +/-4V, which is adjusted by the ADC driver IC.

Similarly the DAC output is first passed through a transimpedance amplifier and then some filters and finally reaches the SMA Connectors. The output range of DAC is +/-1.85V.

There should not be any problems using TPD1E10B06DPYR for the DAC in that case since the VRWM is 3.3V which is well above +/-1.85V and the diode capacitance is very low so it should not affect the signals at all. It is also bidirectional which is required for this application.

Now the input range of ADC +/-4V is above the diode VRWM (3.3V) which could affect some signals, I would recommend getting a diode with a VRWM of 5.5V just to have some margin.
