DS90UB941AS-Q1: Chip Selection : Deferences between MIPI DSI and CSI serializer

Part Number: DS90UB941AS-Q1

Dear Staff

Currently, I have following usage requirements. 

“SoC--->serializer---> FPD LINK--->deserializer---> display”

Therefore, I should choose DS90UB941 or equivalent ,right?

But can I use the MIPI CSI serializer in this case? Why SoC cant drive the display through MIPI CSI serializer?

    Hi Jared,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

    Our serializer and deserializer selection will depend on ADAS/IVI application, SoC output protocol and Display input protocol.

    Please provide a block diagram of the protocols and the desired resolution and I can assist with the corresponding SerDes configuration.

    For your question about MIPI CSI serializer vs MIPI DSI serializer - our FPD-Link III devices do not have interoperability between ADAS and IVI devices.

    The MIPI CSI serializers are solely for FPD-Link ADAS portfolio while the MIPI DSI serializers are for FPD-Link IVI.
