DP83822I: Can not get IP address from DHCP Server

Part Number: DP83822I

Hi

My customer got a problem with DP83822 that it can not get IP address from DHCP Server.

They observed that LED0 and LED1 are "turn ON" seems PHY link good and 100Mbps Okay.

Any suggestion how to debug this issue ?

  • Hi PY,

DP838322 may have link, but that means that the PHY sees link on the MDI side. If the signal chain from the PHY to the MAC is broken, the customer will not be able to get an IP address.

Have they tried doing a MII loopback from the MAC to the PHY so they can verify if the MII signal chain is working okay?

They can do it by setting bit 14 of register 00h high.

    Please let me know.

    Best,
    J

  • Hi J,

Let us check loopback and try the suggestion.

Additional question regarding Pin26 and Pin27

do we need connect pin26 under RMII mode, looks like pin27 also do function that pin26 RDV is doing ?

  • Hi, Pin26 is optional. You are correct that CRS_DV works as RX_DV is RMII mode. Please keep me updated.

    Best,
