We have some doubt about the use of the video registers in the range 0x20 .. 0x3A. See datasheet page 14.
Are the values stored in these registers only used for TEST PATTERN GENERATION or also used in normal operation mode (LVDS signals generated based on DSI input signals).

In the datasheet you will find that there are timing registers which have "TEST PATTERN GENERATION PURPOSE ONLY" label. Those are only used for test pattern.
From the datasheet register map note:
There are other timing registers which need to programmed for video input (normal operation), and also when using test pattern.
