I am currently investigating the cause of defective PCIe cards retruning from the field, that use a XIO2001IZGU PCIe-PCI bridge, along with our own communication controller (netX100), providing a PCI interface.
The JTAG signals of both devices are connected in a chain and i can see both devices in my Boundary Scan tool, however, the XIO2001 bridge shows up with IDCODE 0x00000000, Manufacturer 0x00, Version 0x0 and part information 0x0000. Further the instruction register length is reported as 1998253562, which is extremely unlikely to be correct. I can connect to the netX100 controller and scan/set the state of I/O cells, hence the tool, the setup and the scan chain are obviously working, but I am not able to connect to the XIO2001.
Is there something i need to do to get the XIO2001 in Boundary Scan mode (there is no Compliance Pattern in the XIOs BSDL file)?
