AM62L: Deep Sleep Wakeup Issue When wkup_uart0 Is Enable

Hello Team,

We are testing CPU deep sleep using:

echo mem > /sys/power/state

The CPU successfully enters deep sleep. However, the system is not waking up when we try to trigger a wakeup event.

We observed that:

If wkup_uart0 is disabled, wakeup works properly.
If wkup_uart0 is enabled, wakeup does not occur.

It appears that enabling wkup_uart0 is blocking wakeup from deep sleep.
Could you please help us understand the reason and provide a solution or guidance?

This bug has been fixed in SDK 11.2 which will be releasing on December 18th.

Thank you for the update.

Since SDK 11.2 will be released on December 18th, could you please let us know if there is any temporary patch or workaround available in the current SDK that we can use in the meantime ?

And also in

RTC Only Plus DDR mode given in the following document we tried the workaround steps given

and updated- plat/ti/k3/common/am62l_psci.c as mentioned , i.e

-       uint32_t mode = 0;
+       uint32_t mode = 6;

and updated the tispl.bin

in this case even though wkup uart0 is disbaled cpu is not waking up
only sleep is working.

is there any solution for this ?

This WKUP UART bug will impact both Deep Sleep and RTC + DDR.

Hello ,

Not getting the exact commit with the fix for wkup uart bug , could you please update us with the commit ID in which fix has been added .
And are the changes in linux-firmware is sufficient to resolve the wkup uart issue ?

Look for the ones with AM62L.

This is the only changes made to fix this bug.

Thank you for the updates
I have noticed some other commits related to deep sleep and wkup in arm trusted firmware can u confirm , whether these changes are essential to solve the issue in resume function of deepsleep which is caused by wkup uart

Hello J S Ninad,

There are other bug fixes and features added between SDK 11.1 and 11.2 besides the WKUP uart bug. The TIFS get packaged into a binary so you can just use that.
