DS90UB949-Q1: Accessing PORT0 and PORT1 individually

Part Number: DS90UB949-Q1

He, team,

Please advise me on my questions bellwos:

Page 50 on the datasheet, it is insisted that "Address 0x1E Trnsmitter Port Slection bit 1 PORT1_SELselects Port 1 for register access from primary I2C address. For writes, Port1 registers and shared registers will both written."

Q1. Does it mean that GPIOS and D_GPIOs are configured simultanusly, even though PORT0_SEL bit          is set '0'?

Q2. If so, can you let me know how to cinfigure GPIOs and D_GPIOs individually, other than using                  secondary I2C address?

  • Hi Mita,

Q1. Does it mean that GPIOS and D_GPIOs are configured simultanusly, even though PORT0_SEL bit          is set '0'?

Only the D_GPIOs will be configured if the PORT1_SEL bit is set. When the description refers to shared registers, these shared registers are not port specific or change functionality based off of the PORT0_SEL or PORT1_SEL.

Q2. If so, can you let me know how to cinfigure GPIOs and D_GPIOs individually, other than using                  secondary I2C address?

To configure the D_GPIOs, set 949 MainPage register 0x1E to 0x2. To configure the GPIOs, set 949 MainPage register 0x1E to 0x1.

    Best,

    Jack

  • Jack-san,

    Thank you for the answers.
