SN65HVD1050: High-level output current of the chip receiver

Part Number: SN65HVD1050

Hi Experts,

We'd like to ask your assistance  about current's operation of the part SN65HVD1050:

  1. In the specification document, the high-level output current of the receiver only provides the minimum value of -2mA. Could you please assist in providing the maximum current data for steady-state operation?
  2. The actual designed output current for the high level is 8.5mA. Could you please assist in evaluating whether the design is reasonable?

Thank you.

Regards,
Archie A.

  • Hi Archie,

    1. The data sheet specifies - 2 mA max to drive high and 2 mA max to drive low.
    2. If this is the spec you are referring to, then it is not typical but it will depend on if acceptable for your design. I.e, if your system can tolerate a lower VOH / a higher VOL for example, thanks.

    Best Regards,

    Michael.
