Hi Team,
We are planning to use the TUSB8043A USB hub for our application and require a hub that supports both USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 standards with four downstream ports.
The upstream port of the hub will be connected to an NXP i.MX8M Plus SoC. For the downstream ports, the planned connections are as follows:
-
Port 1: Connected to an LTE module that supports USB 2.0 only
-
Port 2: Connected to a USB 3.0 Type-A connector
-
Port 3: Connected to a docking station that supports USB 2.0 only
In the TUSB8043A datasheet, it is stated that the downstream ports are configurable to USB 2.0 only. Does this mean that all downstream ports support USB 3.0 by default?
Additionally, for the ports that require USB 2.0-only operation, do we need to explicitly configure those ports to disable the SuperSpeed (USB 3.0) functionality, or will USB 2.0 devices operate correctly without any additional configuration?
Looking forward to your reply.
