DP83869HM: Is Pulse J0C-0006NL RJ45 connector suitable for DP83869HM PHY?

Hello,
I am designing a board using the  DP83869  Ethernet PHY. The PHY requires an RJ45 connector with integrated magnetics.

I am considering using the following RJ45 part Pulse J0C-0006NL 

My questions:

  1. Is this connector fully compatible with DP83869 for ?
  2. Are there any recommended alternatives or reference designs for this PHY?

    Hi Rubigaa,

    This magnetics has a higher common mode rejection than we recommend for 1-50MHz (-30 vs -20dB). We typically recommend discrete magnetics HX5008NL.

    Hi J,

    GLPLX-SMT-188S7-QQ-Y/G This RJ45 conn is meeting the electrical standard, our requirement is only 4 channel only so can we terminate the remaining 4 channels and use this part. 

    if yes then can you tell us the way to terminate that 4 channel

    Hi Rubigaa,

    I cant seem to find the datasheet with the full specification on it. If you could attach that, that would be great so I can verify on my end.

    Also, 1G Ethernet needs 8 ports (4 differential pairs) for communication. Are you not planning to use this PHY for 1G transmission?

    For terminating unused ports, you can refer to our 100M EVM designs, specifically DP83826AEVM. In those EVMs, we terminate directly to EGND.
