DP83822I: Noise interference to cause the 822I link down?

Part Number: DP83822I

Champs:

My cust has used the 822I.

Their System will have the 1.45ms noise from outside the 822I.

My questions:

Q1. They didnt know where the noise coming from, but they confirmed there is 1.45ms noise, so, any input pin of the 822I will be affected by this noise.

Will the 1.45ms nosie to cause the 822I link down?

Q2. Any SW workdaorund to make the link kept even has this noise?

BR Rio

  • Hi Rio,

What noise is this? Where is it being observed, and what waveform shape will it appear as? Has your customer conducted EMC testing and is this noise similar to one of the requirements (IE surge, EFT, etc.)?

Answers to above questions will help understand whether PHY can withstand from a theoretical view.

There are no known software workarounds for noise immunity on DP83822. If the noise is enough to drop link, PHY will need to go through the auto-negotiation cycle again.

    Sincerely,

    Gerome

  • Hi Gerome:

    Thanks for helping here.

Let's talk for this off-line since the customer arch / schematic will be shown to you thru email.
