TCAN1145-Q1: If have a partial networking CAN can support 24V system

Part Number: TCAN1145-Q1

Hi expert,

Could you pls help check if TI have the partial networking CAN can support 24V system, the detailed requirement as below, thanks.

The Vsup pin should can work normal at 36V voltage, and the maximum voltage should over 58V.

Hangjie

  • Hi Hangjie,

Yes, TCAN114x can support 24V systems depending on the overall system requirements. The absolute max that the VSUP pin can handle is 42V. The highest recommended working voltage is 28V. Can you provide more information on why >58V is required for the abs max?

Otherwise we do not have any other partial networking transceivers with VSUP abs max of 58V. I would recommend looking into Zener diodes that would protect the transceiver in over voltage scenarios. You can reach out to the Protection Devices team to see what Zeners could fit this situation.

    Best,

    Ethan
