DP83826I: Connection between SG and FG

Hi,

I would like you to confirm how I choose connection between SG(Signal Ground) and FG(Frame Ground).
I refered EVM information.

According to this, you show one pair of "1Mohm + 4700pF".
However, I think I can also use only "4700pF" (No DC path). Is it better to connect SG to FG via resistor as well ?

    Hi Machida-san, 

    We typically recommend both resistor and capacitor network for SG and FG. The resistor is to ensure that the GND reference is close to each other so signal integrity when the signal crosses different GND planes is preserved as much as possible. 

    Having no DC path can also work and may give improved EMC performance in some designs. 

    I recommend to at least have pads for the resistor and capacitor so the customer can test out the EMC performance of the board with or without the RC components.
