TCAN-SOIC8-EVM: Socket for DUT

Part Number: TCAN-SOIC8-EVM

Hi Experts,

Customer is considering purchasing the TCAN-SOIC8-EVM kit, but not able to find neither the part XU1 (SK02-0008SOP-QS-01A), nor the company RS Teck. Will a socket for an SOIC-8 CAN tranceiver be included in the kit?

From image of PCB in the doc, the XU1 designator seems to have mounting holes, preventing manual soldering. Is this the idea?

For your assistance.

Regards,
Archie A.

  • Hi Archie,

Unfortunately, it doesn’t come with a socket. The sockets typically comes with screws provided with the socket to screw the socket to the EVM.

This do not prevent manual soldering. Customers may use the sockets or choose not, thanks.

    Best Regards,

    Michael.
