TMDS1204: HDMI data are not being transfered

Hi team,

I am using TMDS1204 redriver in my design.
While validating 2.1, could you please suggest us which cables were used for FRL mode operation.
Also, the source and sink required will be FRL or we can use any monitor and laptop which does not support FRL mode.

Hi Irfan,

For 2.1 testing, please use cables that are explicitly labelled to support HDMI 2.1. Otherwise, please ensure that the cable can support 12Gbps if you are using non HDMI cables.

The sink needs to support HDMI 2.1. Otherwise, the monitor will tell the source it does not support HDMI 2.1 and the source will send out TMDS signal.

Hi J,

Could you please recommend the cables and monitors you have used to validate HDMI 2.1.
Also, the Source laptop and Sink Monitor used.

We are in the purchasing stage so, we need some reference.

Hi Irfan,

We do not have specific recommendations. For monitor and source, please purchase one that can support HDMI 2.1 resolution.

Hi Irfan,

We do not have cable recommendations. As long as the cables explicitly claim to support 8K or HDMI 2.1, that should suffice.
