TXS0108E-Q1: Need help in selecting level translator

Part Number: TXS0108E-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LSF0108-Q1

Hi,

Here are my requirements fro the level translator:

  1. Bidirectional auto sensing.
  2. 1.8V to 3.3V and 1.8V to 1.8V conversion support in same IC.
  3. IO lines may or may not have pullup or pulldown resistors.

Could you please help in selecting a right IC for the above requirement?

  • Hello,

The LSF0108-Q1 is an auto-bidirectional translator that can support multi-voltage translation in the same IC. External pullups would be needed, and external pulldowns are generally ill-advised due to the open-drain I/Os that this device has.

Let me know if any additional considerations in your use case, i.e a specific interface such as I2C, SPI, UART, etc. to further narrow down device selection.

    Regards,

    Jack

  • Hi,

    Thank you for the reply.

Are we allowed to use TXS108E for the 1.8V to 1.8V translation (Both are from different domain)?

TXS102 datasheet clearly mention that 1.8V to 1.8V is not allowed. What is the difference between TXS parts with "E" and without "E"?

Do we have TXS102 part with "E"?

  • Hello,

Yes, this is application is supported. The "E" variant implies that there is enhanced ESD protection, offering IEC-ESD on B-port.

Do we have TXS102 part with "E"?

    Unfortunately, we do not.
