Part Number: DS320PR822
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS160PR810
I would like to steer my host root complex to either a x8 PCIe slot or 2 x x4 slots as shown in the figure below. What would be a good IC?

Hi Ramgopal,
Are you intending to MUX between two different configurations? In this case, the DS320PR822 can be an option. If MUX functionality is not needed, the DS160PR810 redriver is protocol agnostic and will be able to work with bifurcation settings determined by the host.
Best regards,
Greg
Hi Ramgopal,
In this case, the DS320PR822 will be the most similar device in our portfolio to your required application.
Best regards,
Greg
So,
First IC:
I connect my first 4 PCIe lanes from Ryzen to lanes 0, 2, 4, and 6, and leave 1, 3, 5, and 7 unconnected at the RXP? Likewise in the direction towards the Ryzen at the TXP pins?
Second IC:
Second 4 lanes.
I also plan to use mode L1. Can I use Microchip 2 Kb AT24C02C-SSHM-B? It worked well with DS160PR410RNQT in our previous design.
Hi Ramgopal,
I will check on this and will get back to you as soon as possible.
Best regards,
Greg
Hi Ramgopal,
This EEPROM should be OK to use. Regarding your intended application, can you clarify why you intend to use channels 1, 3, 5, and 7 for the input?
Best regards,
Greg
