Hi,

If a PCIe Gen 5 device is connected to the DS160PT801, will the link automatically down-train to Gen 4, or will the device fail to be detected?

Hi Jeff,

Yes. the link should automatically down-train to PCIe Gen 4, as PCIe devices are designed to be backwards compatible.
