How does device tell whether it is in daisy-chain or normal SPI?
Do we need to always send header first, to let device tell the mode?

Hello Jass,
Daisy-chain is determined by sending a header segment first then followed by the register address.
Without the header segment, it won't configure the part for daisy chain.
