TVP5158: TVP5158 Pixel-Interreaved mode (2ch)

Part Number: TVP5158

Hello,
We are currently developing a device using your TVP5158.
We have configured it to operate in 2-Channel Pixel-Interleaved Mode, and set the outputs as follows:

    Port A: Channel 1 and Channel 2

    Port B: Channel 3 and Channel 4
    (Register settings: B0 = 0x50, B2 = 0x27, B4 = 0xE4)

However, we are observing that Port A outputs Channel 1 and Channel 3, while Port B outputs Channel 2 and Channel 4.
(This has been confirmed by checking the digital output on Port A.)
Could you please help us understand the cause of this issue?

Additionally, every time the power is turned off and on, Channel 1 and Channel 3 on Port A get swapped, and at the same time, Channel 2 and Channel 4 on Port B also swap at power-up.
Could you please tell us what might be causing this behavior?

For reference, the receiving device is MDIN380, and in the past we used a TW2866 4-channel decoder in the same 2-Channel Pixel-Interleaved mode, which worked correctly.

Thank you for your assistance.

I will see what I can find out in order to try and answer your questions. However, as noted on the device web page, there is no design support available for this device.

  • Hello, Paul

I'd like to confirm whether the settings listed in address "B4" of the TVP5158 register settings are:

    Ch 1 = VIN_1_P

    Ch 2 = VIN_2_P

    Ch 3 = VIN_3_P

    Ch 4 = VIN_4_P

or whether they are incorrect. This is because even if I set address "B4" to "E4," the digital output does not match the setting.

    Thank you.
