Part Number: TCA9416
I have a 1V8 I2C bus which I have added 3V1 and 3V3 sections to using the TCA9416 (in the X2SON footprint). In both cases the part fails to function as expected and holds SCLK/SDA lines around 0.3V regardless of what the master tries to do with them. This issue is present on multiple boards.
I removed the TCA9416 parts and confirmed that all the other devices on the bus sections function as expected. I then wired TCA9416 parts in the SOT-23-THIN footprint and that works!
I did consider the possibility that the soldering of the devices could be part of the problem but looking at the possible combinations for shorts I do not see any that would explain the voltages I see on the comms lines.
Have there been any batch issues reported with the X2SON footprint parts? Assuming the two footprints have identical internals I can't think of anything aside from multiple identical part failures which would explain the problems I have been having.
