SN65DSI83-Q1: SN65DSI83 Radiated Emission

Part Number: SN65DSI83-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65DSI83

Hello,

In our appliance we use a SoM. For LVDS generation the TI SN65DSI83 is uses. It seems to be working fine, images and video's are visible on a 1280 x 800 display.
At a EMC pre-assessment we noticed fails at several LVDS clock harmonics. RE LVDS.PNG

Today we measured to the LVDS CLK output. We connected a 100 ohm resistor between the P an N pin of the differentieal LVDS signal.

We see a differential voltage of about 650 mV.

650 mV is impossible following the datasheet of SN65DSI83

We are not yet 100% sure about all actual bridge settings, we are wrking on this.

Anybody any idea what is going wrong here?

  • Hi Fons,

Is the system measured with the same settings as during operation with the display working? Please check whether there is 100-Ohm differential termination in the display, and if there is no internal termination, then the 100-Ohm differential resistors should be added.

Also, are you changing the settings on register 0x19? You could use that register to lower the voltage swing and check if that resolves the issue.

    Best regards,
    Ikram
