THVD4421: Pinout discrepancy

Part Number: THVD4421

Hi Team,

it has been reporting a discrepancy in the pinout information for the THVD4421RHBR. The datasheet shows one pinout configuration, while both the Application Note/Evaluation board documentation and the Ultra Librarian CAD model show a different pinout (specifically noting differences on pins 7, 30, 31, and possibly others). Can you please comment which would be the one needs to be considered for designing.

  1. AN/Eval: www.ti.com/.../sllu379.pdf
  1. Ultra Librarian IC product page: https://vendor.ultralibrarian.com/TI/embedded/?gpn=THVD4421&package=RHB&pin=32&sid=0195658ebcf50004067f010f85c805050002300d00bd0&c=1&options=1-1&options=2-2&exports=37

Best regards

  • Marcela,

The datasheet is correct - there were originally two pinouts during prototyping and the AN and EVM users guide has the older pinout (the EVM technically supports both pinouts - but only the one in the datasheet/Ultra librarian are correct for current material).

Generally speaking - if there is a discrepancy between App notes/EVM and the datasheet - typically the datasheet should be considered the golden source. The datasheet goes through multiple verification phases to ensure accuracy (there are still mistakes from time to time - but the process minimizes this) while the EVM/AN don't have such a process and they are not updated as regularly.
