DS90UB928Q-Q1: Back Channel Enable on DS90UB928

Part Number: DS90UB928Q-Q1

Hi Team,

Question about Rset (register name) at address 0x01.

Does BC Enable in bit2 disable/enable Back Channel (I2C) itself ?

Does it disable/enable Back Channel (I2C) transmit (superimposed) on LVDS (Forward Channel) ?

Thanks for Best Regards,

Yuki

  • Hi Yuki,

It would disable the backchannel communication on the FPD-Link between the 928 and the partner serializer. If the BC is disabled, you would effectively not be able to read register values of the 928 via I2C from the partner serializer, and you would not be able to read or write to the partner serializer's registers from the 928.

This is the updated version of the register bit and it will be updated in the next revision of the 928.

    BR,

    Esther
