Hello,

 

I am looking for a re-driver/re-timer that is able to handle lower end speeds just above 1.0Gbs. The DS100KR800 seems more than capable and accepts the interfaces types I need but it only talks about the max speeds. Is there a way to configure this part or a similar part to accept 1.0Gbs?

    Hi Tim,

    • The DS100KR800 will work fine around 1 Gbps.  Other devices like DS64BR111 / DS64BR401 would work too.  Do you know how much insertion loss you need to compensate for?  Please keep in mind that these devices will have reduced CTLE boost at 1 Gbps compared to 6 Gbps or 10 Gbps.

    • If you are interested in a retimer, you might consider DS110DF410 or DS110DF111.  These will support CDR down to 8.5 Gbps / 8 = 1.0625 Gbps.
