THVD2412V: RS422 Full duplex configuration

Part Number: THVD2412V

Hello,

I have a question regarding the full duplex configuration on the THVD2412V.

In the datasheet, "7.4 Device Functional Modes" paragraph, it is said:

When the driver enable pin, DE, is logic high (H), the differential output A/Y and B/Z follow the logic states at data input D.

This seems a little bit confusing because AB is described as receiver pair, so it should not follow D (driver).

As far as I know in a full duplex configuration driver pair and receiver pair are independent lines so they are not following the same.

  • Hi Juan,

You are correct. The output pins become enabled when DE is set high. Output pins refer to Y/Z and not A/B (these are receiver pins as you rightfully called out).

The A/B pins are called out because this device shares the same datasheet as the half duplex devices that end in THVD24X0 which do not have a Y/Z pin.
