Hello,

I have new application with AMD Ryzen COM Express card and USB 3.2 Gen 2 or 10 GBPS application. Is this the right part - TUSB1002AIRGET? I need to pick a redriver. For gen 2.0 in the same connector I am using USB211QRWBRQ1

Do I use mode F?

USB 3.0 and 2.0 are being wired to a USB A connector and not C so for power switch I am using TPS2066DR

Hi Divakar,

For a USB3.0 10Gbps application for a type-A port, yes I would recommend the TUSB1002A. Setting mode to F for dual channel operation should work, yes. Section 7.2 of the datasheet provides a typical application for dual channel operation.

For USB 2.0, if needed, I would recommend the TUSB211A or TUSB216.

I will go through it. I will use TI TUSB211QRWBRQ1 for USB 2.0 as it is in our library.

So, I think the trace lengths are going to be similar to your recommendations. I will know when we finish the layout so I followed your schematic and set CH1 EQ to 3 (0 F) and CH2 to EQ 1 (0 0). I set CFG1 and 2 to F. Pulled up DC boost to 3.3V. Set mode to F. and pulled up the EN.. Do I need to add a cap to the EN pin to create a reset on power up? All settings pulled up or down with 1K. Is that a good start?

If the loss of these RX of these channels matches these EQ settings, then thats okay.

This will set the TUSB1002A to dual channel operation with a 1200mVpp VOD, which seems fine to me.

This is not required. The EN pin also already has an internal PU.

I would say just make sure you're following the recommended resistor values based on the control pin settings:

If only 0, F or 1 is being used, then a 1K PD or PU should be okay.
