TL16C754C: Necessity of pull-up resistors in crystal clock circuits

Due to the EoL of the competitor product and considering the TL16CP754CIPM, but there is one difference.

This is because the competitor IC has internal pull-up resistor for crystal circuit, eliminating the need for external 1Mohm.

Since pin compatibility and no circuit changes are required, is it possible to use the TL16CP754CIPM without the exterenal 1Mohm pull-up?

Some application notes do not have external 1Mohm pull-up in the schematic, so please let me confirm.

    I would recommend the 1Mohm resistor to be present. My understanding is that resistor is there during the power up to help the oscillation to begin. Since our device does not include the resistor internally, I recommend placing one externally.

    Are you able to populate that resistor there?
