DP83826AI: PHY address

According to “Table 8-44. PHYCR Register Field Descriptions” in the DP83826AI datasheet, the PHY address is 5 bits.

However, I can only find three strap pins for the PHY address.

Which information is correct?

If the PHY address is 5 bits, which pins correspond to the PHY_ADDR[4:3] straps?

Hi,

DP83826A has 8 configurable PHY addresses available per strap table.

The PHY address itself is 5 bits, but only the lower 3 bits can be configured by straps at startup. Is this understanding correct?

If so, what are the default values of the upper 2 bits?

Yes, your understanding is correct. Upper two bit values are defaulted to 0. Available PHY addresses are 0 to 7.
