TCA9406: TCA9406YZPR and TXS0202 compatibility for I2C translator (DSBGA package)

Hi,

I need to assemble boards wich have been designed with the I2C translator TCA9406YZPR (DSBGA package). But this component is out of stock for several months...up to august 2026...

So I am wondering if the TXS0202 chip in the same package could be a solution for I2C application ?

    The TCA9406 is identical with the TXS0102. That one is also out of stock.

    The TXS0202 is designed for the Interchip-USB protocol; as shown in figure 1 on p. 4, it has internal pull-up and pull-down resistors that are switched dynamically. The pull-down resistors are rather weak, so it's possible that this works with I²C; it might be necessary to add external pull-up resistors.
